Swieqi Overseas Rugby – Weekly Update – End of Season and Awards Dinner

SWIEQI OVERSEAS – MRFU SEVENS , CISK LEAGUE AND MEDITERRANEAN BANK CHAMPIONS 2013/14

A long season comes to an end with the Mens squad winning the MRFU Sevens Series in Gozo on Saturday 24th May.

This adds to the roll of honours this season including Cisk League champions First and Second Division, and Med Bank Cup champions First Division.

Hard work rebuilding the club paid off with an organised set up and a young squad. The base for future success has been laid down.
Apart from the wins, it was also the start of a new phase. And most importantly the coming together of different groups to form a new club. The integration of the Alligators was fantastic and must be acknowledged. It is difficult to remember how the group was before.

AWARDS NIGHT – WEDNESDAY 11th JUNE

Awards night will be held at the Royal Malta Yacht Club which will be be used for club acitivities more and more in the future.

DRESS CODE: SUIT/SMART (Club ties delivered on the night for Eur10 each)
TIME: 7pm onwards
VENUE: Royal Malta Yacht Club, Ta’ Xbiex Seafront
PRICE: 26 Euro a head set menu (attached)

CLUB AGM

The final Club committee meeting will be held Wednesday 18th June to wrap up all matters.

Sponsorship deals are progressing well. The recruitment campaign and promotion will start shortly.

As explained in the previous update there will be more activity related to the Swieqi Sports Council in the next few months.

The Club AGM will be held first week of July.
