The MRFU Women’s Working Group and the Ladies Representative organized Rugby Beach Tournament. This event was held on Friday 22nd August in Għadira Bay, Mellieħa, and was open to both male and female players.
Each team had a minimum of 5 players as games were played with a 5-a-side lineout. During this event two separate tournaments where held. The male players participated in a full contact Rugby tournament, while the female players took part in the Tag Rugby tournament.
Swieqi Overseas Rugby Union Football Club fielded two 5-side teams for this event; A female team for Tag Rugby and a male team for full contact Rugby. The male team also supported other teams by providing players.
The contact games where officiated by Sam Ramage, while the Tag games where officiated by Marion Azzopardi, Amanda Cassar and Rodianne Bugeja.
