Swieqi Overseas RUFC 30 – Kavallieri RFC 21
Last Saturday 19th April 2014, after a tense and hard fought game versus Kavallieri, Swieqi Overseas won the Cisk League First Division Championship. The last time the club won the League was in the 2000/2001 season.

This win follows the success of the second division squad who were crowned Champions of the Cisk League Second Division on the 22nd March.
The club has gone through many changes this year. The affiliation with Swieqi with the support of the Swieqi Council and the Swieqi United football club; the strategy to have a younger team to build a base for the next few seasons; and the influx of players who came from Alligators RFC whose contribution was invaluable, all played a part in creating what is effectively a new club.
I would like to thank all the sponsors who supported us, the committee and players who worked hard for this success after a lot of difficulties. There is more to come, with an Academy in the works and a closer co-operation with the Swieqi Sports Council. I am sure this marks a new phase for the club.
